Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

29 Sep

My little Mustang 🙂 This was my shirt when I was a little kiddo. I used to run around the football stadium while my oldest brother Craig was playing. It has a faded #44 on the back ❤

We love to make our funny faces!

In case you missed the Big News, we announced that we are expecting our 2nd child in April!

Kyler is going to be a Big Sister!!!

Kyler went to Grandma and Poppa’s house on Friday and had a little slumber party. Chris and I had a much needed date night which was really just going to dinner (so nice to not have to rush through it) and watching a movie at home. It was relaxing, low key, and just what we needed. Kyler had fun too! Grandma and Poppa took her to the zoo! (Grandma said her phone was messed up so no photos 😦 )

This girl knows how to correctly identify Africa and Australia. Amazing.

She has also been taking more interest into drawing lately too. Thank goodness for school!

Kenley and Kyler singing their ABC’s.

I am finally finding motivation to turn Kyler’s room into her big girl room. Hopefully I can keep this up!

Poor Maggie was tired from swimming. And she always thinks she is smaller than she really is.

Tonight, Chris and I (Fenway helped) tackled folding and putting clothes away. I HATE that.

It was a good week in the Jenkinson household! We finally got to spill the beans, see Uncle Josh, see our little peanut (he/she looked healthy!), and we had a date night! Life is good!

Special Edition: Mid-Week Update ;)

25 Sep

As you know, each week I update you with things that have been happening in the Jenkinson household. I know I missed ANOTHER post this past Sunday but I think I have a pretty good reason.

WE ARE EXPECTING ANOTHER BABY!!!!

Chris and I are happy to announce that we are expecting our 2nd baby and we couldn’t be happier about it! That means Miss Kyler will be a Big Sister which she doesn’t really understand (and to be honest, I don’t think she will until the baby is here).

Big Sister Kyler!

Baby 2.0 is due April 4th which makes me 12 weeks and 5 days to those that are counting 🙂

So for those of you that are curious….

  • We found out on July 28th and confirmed with two preggo tests
  • I have been feeling pretty good thus far, although the fatigue has really kicked my butt. I tend to go to bed pretty late but I have been passed out between 9-10 every night for the past several weeks.
  • Nausea hasn’t been too bad, just when I was hungry, but I was feeling very blah for a few weeks there.
  • Just like with Kyler, I get very “out of breath” feeling and dizzy in the mornings which means I move even slower than before.
  • The headaches have started but I have my little tricks to make them go away 🙂
  • And holy cow, as soon as I found out I felt my stomach get thicker almost instantly. I was freaking out that at that rate I would be big by now but I am happy to say I have stayed the same size for a few weeks now. I guess it just happens quicker which is what I am hearing and reading 🙂

Overall, I am feeling good and am excited to enter my 2nd trimester! We are so excited to meet the new little guy/gal and expand our little family of 3 to 4!

UCF vs Penn State Weekend

18 Sep

In lieu of the Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons, I figured I would share some pictures and highlights of our weekend up in Central PA. We were off bright and early Friday morning (7:30am flight which meant 5am wake up call). We scored with an empty seat next to us which made life MUCH better!

Kyler started out pretty good on Friday. She was pretty good on the flight but as we got closer to land, she started getting a little cranky. By the time we put her in the stroller in the airport, she was having a full on melt-down. As soon as we were in the car, she passed out and I thought the end of the crankiness was near!

Miss Kyler woke up as we approached the Farm and the crankiness had not stopped. We attempted lunch then headed to State College. She continued her tantrum fits and made for a not so enjoyable time. Poor girl had a molar coming through on top of everything else so I know she was really uncomfortable. Tylenol wasn’t really doing the trick but there was nothing other than being outside and walking around that would make her happy. We stopped off at the Penn State Arboretum and she seemed to like that.

From there, we headed to the Penn State Creamery for some ice cream and she loved that (what’s not to like). The rest of the day was followed by tantrum after tantrum until it was bed time. Thankfully, she went down easily and Mom and Dad were not far behind 🙂

Saturday was game day and Kyler was GREAT!!!!! She was back to her happy, normal self. We walked down to the neighbor’s farm to see some cows. She really liked when they moo’ed at her.

My memory card crashed so all of my good photos from Friday and Saturday morning are gone. I am in the process of trying to recover them so fingers are crossed!

A few hours later, calves showed up at Nana’s Farm so we had to say hi to those too!

After a quick nap, we were ready to tailgate (with a good Cheese of course)

We had the House Divided shirt made up from a shop on Etsy. We ironed it on and it was perfect!!! I went to UCF and Chris went to Penn State plus it was Mickey and Minnie so everyone was happy.

A few of my friends from back home traveled up for the game so we tailgated with them for a bit.

UCF Alumni had a tent set-up so we swung by to hang with some fellow Knights. Kyler loved the balloons.

Game time!

She got to meet the Nittany Lion!

Go Knights!

We had to leave at the half since it was Kyler’s bedtime but UCF went on to win 34-31!!!!

The next day, we walked around the Farm for a bit. It was chilly out around 9am but it warmed up later in the day.

Later on, we headed to Horsepower Farm to meet some horses. The woman who runs it is a cousin of my Mother-In-Law’s so Kyler got to meet some up close.

Monday morning, we were up at 4am (UGH) and on the road by 4:30am to catch our 7am flight. Kyler enjoyed some Starbucks coffee cake for breakfast.

We had another empty seat on the flight home and Kyler did great!

It was a nice trip filled with family time, nice weather, and football! We could have done without the cranky Kyler but she still had a good time and enjoyed all of the farm animals.

Weekend Update with the Jenkinsons

9 Sep

Well I am a day late and this is going to be very quick because there wasn’t much that was “blog worthy”.

Kyler did start swimming lessons this week!!!

The kid LOVES her peanut butter & jelly sandwiches…. sometimes it’s easier to feed her that with her clothes off because… well you can see 🙂

She is very much into her stuffed toys lately…. Elmo is a favorite right now and he tends to go with her quite a bit.

Kyler had another swim class over the weekend…. she is doing great! She cries the whole time but I am hoping that will stop. The teacher said she is a strong little girl and will pick this up in no time so that is great to hear!

We are in the “not having fun” stage of swimming classes and I expect that to last a week or so more… this was her on the way home. Miss grumpy!

But then of course realized I took a picture so she stopped for a second to say “Cheese”

For dinner, I made a homemade burrito bowl and tried to duplicate Chiptole’s flavor with lime and cilantro…. It wasn’t exact but it was pretty good!

Short and sweet but that is all I got!!!! We take off to PA this weekend to head to the Farm, State College for some UCF vs Penn State football (go UCF!!) and family time! Not to mention, I am VERY much looking forward to some Fall weather 🙂 See you on the flip side!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

2 Sep

The week started off celebrating Chris’s 34th birthday!!! Happy Birthday babe!!!

We kept it pretty laid back and ordered pizza (Chris’s fav) and went out for some frozen yogurt.

The week came and went and nothing really excited happened. We did have a very nice long weekend spent with lots of quality family time. We went out for breakfast at our favorite spot Keke’s.

We hit up the bookstore afterwards which Kyler thought was pretty cool. Especially when she found the little stage. She loves it up there!

Next stop was Lowes which Kyler ran straight to the tractors and climbed right up.

Chris ended up having to go to work for a hour or so but brought home lunch from Briantos, a local cheese steak place, and some hard to find Birch Beer! This reminds me of growing up and visiting my grandparent’s North Carolina home. They had some Birch trees out front and we used to snap the twigs and smell them. Love Birch Beer!

Kyler and I headed out to run some errands Sunday morning while Chris went in to work for a little bit. We stopped and got some Dunkin Donuts munchkins…. Kyler of course LOVED them.

The rest of the weekend was spent loungin’ by the pool.

Kyler’s hair is getting long!!! 2 things about this photo: 1) she is looking up somewhat so it’s not THAT long 2) it is longer than you would think because it’s only in the middle and in the back… we tend to brush that to the sides to minimize the mullet look 🙂

She helped Dad dust today 🙂 Such a good little helper.

She vacuumed of course too 🙂

Multi-tasking…. reading a book while climbing some stairs. Goofy girl.

It was a fun, uneventful, relaxing weekend with my 2 favorite people. Work for me is about to kick it into high gear with the NBA season upon us so I try to soak up as much time with them as I can.

Miss Kyler starts swim lessons tomorrow (eek!!!) and I am so anxious/scared to see how it goes!  Look for that update next week 🙂

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!! Have a great week!!!
