Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

24 Nov

This is how I started off my week…. I came downstairs to breakfast, lunch and my coffee made. ❤ my Chris.

She sure does love her “pretties” aka necklaces. She really loved mine so of course she had to wear it 🙂

Daddy made Kyler her first fort!

and then insisted that I get in…. she pretty much shoved me in there. Peek-a-boo!

On Friday, her school had a little Thanksgiving lunch. Chris and I never really get to make it too many school things so really wanted to go. She was a VERY happy girl because she got to come home with me.

We took her to meet Santa this weekend too.

We went to the Mall at Millenia. Their Santa is so good (and their people are miracle workers). Kyler was really scared but they had to play ball with Santa first and that seemed to warm her up.

This is when she realized she was sitting next to Santa. Nice, Kyler.

I know a year is a big difference at this age but it’s just to crazy to see!

We also set up the Christmas Tree this weekend. She was a big help!

Putting the star on the tree

Thankfully some cold weather made its way to Florida. Time to bust out the new boots!

Thank you Gap. Now make them in my size!

We went to the bookstore to find a Christmas book and of course she went straight for the toys… see that puppy in her hand? Yeah, we bought it.  It will be in her stocking come Christmas 🙂

The girls are so cute with Crosby!

We had such a nice family weekend spent doing fun Christmas things. Is is before Thanksgiving? Yup but I don’t care!! That’s what you get when Thanksgiving is so late! This is after all my favorite time of year 🙂

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

Our New Pool: Start to Finish!

18 Nov

When we were looking for our new house, we knew we wanted it to have a pool. When we searched the market, turned out many houses with our must haves did not have a pool… Bummer. We then looked for houses with a big enough backyard to be able to put in our own pool. Our house had just that. It’s not by any means a BIG backyard but it’s not teeny tiny like some in Orlando. We still have enough grass space for the doggies and Kyler to play.

Here is the pool building process in photos step by step:

Pool in the design stage:

Last day of having a grassy backyard:

Sod is cut & frame for the pool is done:

Time to dig a pool!

Steel is next!

Gunite! Actually looks like a pool.

Plumbing… yikes!

We have tile!!

Let’s add some pavers….

and the baby fence!

Almost done…. shooting the finish, Grey Harbor Mini Pebble.

Last step… add the water!

That’s our new pool!!

Next is Phase 2: Pergola and summer kitchen. Here is a sneak peak!

Stay tuned!!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

17 Nov

We got to see our little man this week!

I was 20 weeks on Friday and little Hudson is doing great!

We headed to Ikea to pick up an Expedit bookcase for Kyler’s big girl room. We had something to return as well so Kyler sat with Daddy and waited patiently for me to be done.

I took some photos for my friend and her family this weekend. Her precious niece was in town from California!

Kyler and Chris tagged along and walked around the lake while I took some photos.

This weekend was pretty much spent trying to get Kyler’s room put together. We have a couple of more things to do and I then I will post some photos. Here is a sneak peek!

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and I am anxiously awaiting decorating for Christmas. Pretty sure it’s going to happen on Saturday. I went back and read the Weekend Update from a year ago and it feels like it was ages ago. This time last year, Thanksgiving was a few days out, my Christmas tree was up and Kyler was learning how to give high fives. <3.

I LOVE this time of year 🙂

20 Weeks: The 2nd Time Around

15 Nov

I am 20 weeks today. Half way there. Not sure how that is really possible. I feel like I just found out I was pregnant about a month ago.

I am feeling great for the most part. I am still pretty sleepy but I think that is more due to chasing my almost 2 year old around and juggling being a working mom rather than being pregnant. My lower back has already started feeling “tired” and I know that will not end and will most likely get worse as my belly grows. I feel huge this time around even though I have only gained 6 pounds according to the doctor. I am pretty sure it’s more than since they go off what I weighed at 8 weeks but sure, we will go with 6 😉 My belly really has popped and I look full on legit pregnant. I am in maternity clothes for the most part. I still wear a lot of non maternity shirts but I really need to hit the store and find some more gear. I tried to wear a pair of normal pants the other day but who I am kidding. When I sat down they were they were so comfortable so no more of that.

We had our 20 weeks ultrasound the other day and he is looking just perfect. He was doing all sorts of poses for us and “showing off” as the tech said. He is still a HE was makes me it seems more real to me. We are having a son. The tech seems somewhat annoyed that I was even questioning it but hey, I am also the girl that peed on a stick, had 2 lines and waited 2 days to take another
“just to be sure”. But as she said, those are definitely boy parts. Heartbeat has been around 140 bpm every time we have gone in and this time was no different.

Kyler has been so sweet the past few days. I think it is really starting to sink in that she is having a baby brother. We often call him by his name, which is Hudson Alexander by the way, and she says hi and bye to him and has been kissing my belly lately. Just makes my heart melt! She is going to be the best big sister!!

I know these next 20 weeks are going to fly by thanks to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Kyler’s birthday. After her birthday, I will have about 2 months to get things in order before we become a family of 4! Eek!!

So there you have it, 20 weeks the 2nd time around. It has gone by so much FASTER than my first pregnancy, it’s true what they say, you feel things sooner, and you don’t have time to constantly think about how your life is going to change. Little Hudson will be here before we know it.

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

10 Nov

This week, Kyler moved into her big girl bed!

She has done so well! I think she really loves her big girl bed and doesn’t seem to miss her crib at all. She has fallen out a couple of times but doesn’t seem to really mind, she was woken up with shoes on, and likes to bring her books to bed. We are making more changes to her room in the coming weeks so I will post when it’s all finished 🙂

We are also making improvements to the backyard. I like to call this Stage 2 🙂

This includes a pergola and summer kitchen. Plan is to have it all done by the Spring (we are doing all the work ourselves) so I am eager to see if finally get started!

Kyler went over to Grandma and Poppa’s house on Friday and stayed the night. Packed up and ready to go!

On Saturday, I headed over to my friend’s bridal shower then scooped up Kyler. We headed back to Orlando, ran some errands, then had dinner over at the Gilbertson’s.

Somehow the weeks keep coming and going at the speed of light! We have another ultrasound on Wednesday and I am eager to see the little guy again. I will be 20 weeks on Friday…. half way there! So crazy how fast it is going by!

Happy Sunday!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons: Trick or Treat

5 Nov

This will be a Trick or Treat Edition of the Weekend Update.

Our little Cinderella ❤

She spent the night with her mermaid friend Kenley.

This was Kyler’s first time Trick or Treating!

She did pretty good with saying Trick or Treat and did awesome with saying Thank You.

The girls inspected every piece of candy they got!

We had a great Halloween!!! Hope you did too 🙂
