Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

29 Jun

Mr. Serious

This is how I watch the World Cup.

Later that evening, I stuck around for the Magic Draft Party and to see our 1st round draft picks.

I mean, really?!?! Is he not the cutest??

Miss Kyler is FINALLY letting us read to her again. I finally found the trick. I have to tell her “It’s Daddy/Mommy’s turn to read and then when he/I am done then it’s Kyler’s turn. Only took 6 months to figure that out!!! She is into Green Eggs and Ham right now.

A very hot (95 degrees) weekend meant time in the pool!

Even Hudson got in! His first time in the pool! Look at that chunky boy 🙂

Kyler has been having fun “jumping” into the pool. By jumping I mean flopping on her belly.

I know it may not look like it here but Hudson actually liked the pool! Side note: Kyler looks ridiculous in this picture. Goofy girl plus a belly full of air and pool water.

Mean muggin’

My fishy

Loungin’ with Mom

Fun times in the exersaucer

She loves him

Princess Sofia everyone

Kyler: “Hello? I am on the phone with Daddy” Me: “Oh, you are? Is it important?” Kyler: “Yeah, I am on an important call”

Mighty cute indeed

Dress-Up and baby dolls

This happened. I have GOT to start working out…. this baby weight needs to go and needs to go fast!

Pretty little thing

Kyler does what Kyler wants… like sitting right on Dad

Was pretty excited to see this today at Publix, decided to try it out!

It was a busy weekend full of quality time with my babes. Looking forward to a short week at work then more quality time with them!!! Have a great holiday week!!!

Hudson: Three Months

29 Jun

This wide eyed happy boy is 3 months old today if you can believe it!!! Here is what he was up to last month.

He is such a sweet and happy little guy. He is all smiles after a good night’s sleep or a good nap. He goes to bed around 7:30-8pm (swaddled of course) and depending on how sleepy he is… sometimes with the paci and sometimes without. He has been waking up twice a night for the last week but I am hoping that will stop. I rarely have to give him the paci after he eats (we will see what happens when I stop feeding him in the middle of the night). He is still all over the place in terms of what time he wakes up to eat. Sometimes 12:30, sometimes 2:30, sometimes he goes all the way until 4:30-5… he is really unpredictable. As for naps, he still isn’t on a great schedule yet. He has been at daycare for a couple weeks but I am sure they will get him on one.

He is doing so great with his head and neck control. He loves to sit up and look around. Recently, he has been using the Bumbo at school. Kyler was never a fan but he doesn’t seem to like it. Only problem is his little chunk chunk legs already have to squeeze in there so I don’t think we will be able to use it long.

Speaking of chunk…. homeboy is probably around the 17 1/2lb mark. I have no clue how long he is. We were supposed to go to the kidney doctor next week but it was pushed back.

Yes, a kidney doctor. During an ultrasound I had at 32 weeks preggo, they noticed dilation with his kidneys. They have checked 2 more times since he has been born (2 days old and 5 weeks old) and it is still there. They call it Hydronephrosis. It simply means that the inside of the kidneys are dilated and have fluid sitting in them. He has a mild case of it and we still don’t really know what it all means. After his 5 weeks ultrasound, we saw a specialist and he wanted to repeat the ultrasound when he is a few weeks older. Apparently babies can outgrow it or it can get better over time. As of now, we don’t know why they are dilated, ie is it reflux where the urine goes back from the bladder to the kidney, is it a blockage in the tube, or was it something that was blocked in utero and it corrected itself but the inside never went down. Regardless, the specialist didn’t seem all too concerned with it because his kidney function is great, anatomy is great and the ultrasound only shows a mild dilation.

He has been “talking” the last week or two. It’s mainly coos and ahhss and it’s pretty freaking adorable. He love when people look at him and smile. He usually flashes a smile back with some sort of sound. He started drooling the last couple of days too. I know he is still super young but he doesn’t seem like a sleepy little newborn to me anymore! Maybe because he isn’t so little and he is super alert but I am soaking up the snuggly part. My favorite thing about a baby!

Happy 3 months little dude!

Hudson: 13 Weeks

28 Jun

Weeeee, we are 13 weeks today!!!

More on this sweet face tomorrow in his 3 month update!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

22 Jun

It was Hudson’s first day of school on Monday! Don’t they both look thrilled to be there? He had a great first week of school!

Love this pretty little face!

Playtime with Hudson!

She loves her baby brother ❤

Chris put this on Kyler this past week. His sister apparently wore it and they put it on Matt (our nephew as well). Such a goof!

I had Friday off work which meant Thursday happy hour!

and a little game of this.

Snuggles with this cutie

It was a rainy afternoon Friday so I took the opportunity to get some crafting time in for a birthday party I am helping out with.

On our way home from school… and this is what she does with her car seat

Mr. Happy was happy to be home

Saturday we hit up Magic Kingdom for the day.

We finally scored fast passes to meet Anna and Elsa, the Frozen princesses. Usually, Kyler gets up to the front and won’t talk to the characters but not this time. She wasn’t shy at all!

She met Ariel too

We saw 4 different momma ducks with their babies. I want them all!

 On Dumbo!

On the roller coaster. She loves it!

Winnie the Pooh. Picture came up bad due to the lighting but still fun!

We had lunch at Fresh to Order today. It was super good!

We hung out at the Gilbertson’s today. Kyler told me she was going to the beach.

USA! What a game!

This is what happens when you have a big sister, you get to use her pink things. Sorry buddy!

No, this is not the same photo… that was Kyler at his age 🙂

We had such a fun weekend! Back to the real world tomorrow.

Hudson: 12 Weeks

21 Jun

Buddy boy is 12 weeks old today! To me, it seems like he went from the newborn stage to the infant stage overnight. I am sure him being in daycare and me being back at work made seems things instant as well.

His personality is starting to take shape and it’s been fun to see. He is really a happy little boy.

He loves to look at lights now! He swats at his toys and “talks” to them too. It’s so cute 🙂 He doesn’t seem to mind tummy time that much either. I remember Kyler screaming as soon as I put her on her belly. Not this kid. He doesn’t like to be on his belly long but he doesn’t mind it for a little bit.

Wowza have these past 12 weeks FLOWN by. I know it will keep getting faster and that gives me more reason why I am trying to hang on to every moment.

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

15 Jun

This past week I headed back to work. It took a few days but by the end of the week I felt like I was getting back into the swing of things.

Selfies with Kyler

This guy was all smiles when I come home from work, he was happy to see me ❤

Not a good way to start off the day :/

Trying to get a picture with the both of them is almost impossible.

I just LOVE snuggling with this sweetie

He is such a stud

Bringing cupcakes to our friends house. Quite the little hostess 🙂

I mean, really? Doesn’t get much cuter than that. Snuggling with Dad on his special day.

Swimming with Poppa!

A man and his babies ❤ Happy Father’s Day, babe! You are the best and we are so blessed!

Also, Happy Father’s Day to my dad too! We love you!

And of course, Happy Father’s Day to Peepaw!!!

I want to wish all the Dads out there a very Happy Father’s Day! Have a great week!

Hudson: 11 Weeks

14 Jun

This was Hudson’s first week away from me as I went back to work! He has been hanging with Grandma all week and I’ve been told he loves it.

He is quite the solid little boy. He is getting much better with his head control so I am looking forward to him being able to hold him self up a bit (ya know, instead of the sack of potatoes he feels like now). I weighed him this week and he was just over 16 pounds so he gets heavy quick!

I’ve missed snuggling with this cutie all week 😦 On Monday, he smiled when I came home from work ❤ I can tell he is starting to see better. He follows me around the room and is starting to like his playmat more and more.

Throwback Thursday

12 Jun

In honor of Father’s Day… I’m throwing back to a picture of my Pops and I. Not sure how old I am here, maybe 2?

Chris’s 1st Father’s Day and my dad’s 1st Father’s Day as a Poppa!

Kyler & Hudson’s Baptism

10 Jun

This past week, Kyler and Hudson were baptized at home. We don’t belong to a church right now, however, we still wanted the kids to be baptized. About a year ago I contacted the gentleman that married Chris and I and asked if they did baptisms and I was thrilled to find out they did. We were going to set it up but then I became pregnant with Hudson so we decided to wait until he was born. The perfect time to do it was when Chris’s family was in town visiting. We kept it small and simple and it was great!

After the baptism, Chris and I made a nice dinner for everyone and enjoyed the evening. We are so blessed to have two beautiful and happy children and we thank God each and every day that He brought them into our lives.

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

8 Jun

We have had quite the busy week here. Chris’s family came into town on Sunday night and left this morning.

As you recall, we hit up Magic Kingdom last Sunday. After we left the park, we headed to the airport and picked up Nana and Peepaw (Chris’s parents). The view from their hotel room. Disney Fireworks!

The next day we hit up Downtown Disney. Chris’s sister and our nephew (Matt, he is 4.5 years old) are visiting from Singapore and just got in from there at 11pm the night before so it was a nice easy day.

As you will see below, they were best buds for the week.

Kyler got a lot of swimming in this week

The next day, we hit up Animal Kingdom.

The safari. It may not be the real deal but it was still fun!

We then hopped over to Epcot in the late afternoon to stroll around. Found these little cuties walking through America.

We got dinner in Germany at the Oktoberfest restaurant. The kids loved dancing to the band.

We stayed for the fireworks and were out of the park  just before 10pm. 12 hour day at Disney and 13+ miles later made for 2 VERY tired little kiddos.

Running errands before the kids bapstim, ALONE.  All of the parents out there know how amazing it truly is. Pure bliss.

Kyler and Hudson were baptized this week. More on this later.

Baller status

We made it to Dunkin Donuts for National Donut Day.

Hudson got to hang with his buddy Crosby this week.

Everybody swarm Hudson!

Enjoying in the Orlando Science Center

Just jammin’ out on the way home from dinner….. She’s so fancy

Hudson looks terrified

Today was a lazy day full of errands and play time. Ammo and Kyler snuggling ❤

He is sure big enough for it but I don’t think he is strong enough yet. Will visit this in a few weeks 🙂

Sums up our day ❤

Welp, today was my last day of maternity leave 😦 I am so so so sad that I have to leave my sweet boy tomorrow and head back to the real world. At least I am going back to a place full of great people and good times. He will be with my mom this week so that makes it a lot easier as well. Off to get my bags ready for… WORK! Haven’t said that in a while! Catch ya on the flip side!
