Let’s Party! – Holiday Picnic

7 Jan

The holidays may be over but I wanted to make sure I posted this before it was too late. This past December, I created an invitation for my hubby and Dad’s company. We threw a Family Holiday Picnic at the park so I naturally used the gingham pattern to start with. The invite is casual and worked perfectly for a holiday BBQ at the park!

DIY Christmas Stocking Ladder

22 Dec

I have been looking for a new way to hang my stockings and came across these ladders all over Pinterest. Each one was completely different but it came down to the same thing….. rustic ladder with some hooks. I leaned on my hubby a bit for this project 🙂

Chris picked up some 1×4’s and 1×6’s at the store. We already had the dark stain at home. We determined the height and Chris played around with cutting the ends (to better lean against the wall) and he got to work!

The Kreg Jig is a great invest and way to hide all of the screws!

After the stain dried, he took some steel wool to it so distress is a bit.

All assembled

We installed some hooks (smallest I could find at the store but honestly love how they look on it!)

I added some Christmas Garland to spurce it up for the holidays… wreath look familiar 🙂

Also, a special thanks to Chris’ Aunt Cindy for making 3 out of the 4 stockings! Chris’ was made from his Nana. We love out homemade stockings!!

I plan on removing the garland after Christmas and using it to hang blankets pictures frames from it!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

24 Nov

This is how I started off my week…. I came downstairs to breakfast, lunch and my coffee made. ❤ my Chris.

She sure does love her “pretties” aka necklaces. She really loved mine so of course she had to wear it 🙂

Daddy made Kyler her first fort!

and then insisted that I get in…. she pretty much shoved me in there. Peek-a-boo!

On Friday, her school had a little Thanksgiving lunch. Chris and I never really get to make it too many school things so really wanted to go. She was a VERY happy girl because she got to come home with me.

We took her to meet Santa this weekend too.

We went to the Mall at Millenia. Their Santa is so good (and their people are miracle workers). Kyler was really scared but they had to play ball with Santa first and that seemed to warm her up.

This is when she realized she was sitting next to Santa. Nice, Kyler.

I know a year is a big difference at this age but it’s just to crazy to see!

We also set up the Christmas Tree this weekend. She was a big help!

Thankfully some cold weather made its way to Florida. Time to bust out the new boots!

Thank you Gap. Now make them in my size!

We went to the bookstore to find a Christmas book and of course she went straight for the toys… see that puppy in her hand? Yeah, we bought it.  It will be in her stocking come Christmas 🙂

The girls are so cute with Crosby!

We had such a nice family weekend spent doing fun Christmas things. Is is before Thanksgiving? Yup but I don’t care!! That’s what you get when Thanksgiving is so late! This is after all my favorite time of year 🙂

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!
