Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

8 Jun

We have had quite the busy week here. Chris’s family came into town on Sunday night and left this morning.

As you recall, we hit up Magic Kingdom last Sunday. After we left the park, we headed to the airport and picked up Nana and Peepaw (Chris’s parents). The view from their hotel room. Disney Fireworks!

The next day we hit up Downtown Disney. Chris’s sister and our nephew (Matt, he is 4.5 years old) are visiting from Singapore and just got in from there at 11pm the night before so it was a nice easy day.

As you will see below, they were best buds for the week.

Kyler got a lot of swimming in this week

The next day, we hit up Animal Kingdom.

The safari. It may not be the real deal but it was still fun!

We then hopped over to Epcot in the late afternoon to stroll around. Found these little cuties walking through America.

We got dinner in Germany at the Oktoberfest restaurant. The kids loved dancing to the band.

We stayed for the fireworks and were out of the park  just before 10pm. 12 hour day at Disney and 13+ miles later made for 2 VERY tired little kiddos.

Running errands before the kids bapstim, ALONE.  All of the parents out there know how amazing it truly is. Pure bliss.

Kyler and Hudson were baptized this week. More on this later.

Baller status

We made it to Dunkin Donuts for National Donut Day.

Hudson got to hang with his buddy Crosby this week.

Everybody swarm Hudson!

Enjoying in the Orlando Science Center

Just jammin’ out on the way home from dinner….. She’s so fancy

Hudson looks terrified

Goofballs

Today was a lazy day full of errands and play time. Ammo and Kyler snuggling ❤

He is sure big enough for it but I don’t think he is strong enough yet. Will visit this in a few weeks 🙂

Sums up our day ❤

Welp, today was my last day of maternity leave 😦 I am so so so sad that I have to leave my sweet boy tomorrow and head back to the real world. At least I am going back to a place full of great people and good times. He will be with my mom this week so that makes it a lot easier as well. Off to get my bags ready for… WORK! Haven’t said that in a while! Catch ya on the flip side!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

27 Oct

We have had quite the week in the Jenkinson household!!!

On Wednesday, we found out that Baby Jenkinson numero dos is a little boy!!!!! We are both thrilled (although I am still completely shocked and cannot believe it) and are very excited to experience being parents to a little man.

Kyler painted a pumpkin blue to celebrate!

Then she took some photos to announce to the world 🙂

I really am completely shocked. I really thought we were going to have another girl. Chris has been saying boy all along and he was right again! He also said girl all along with Kyler so maybe he is onto something.

For those of you keeping track, I am 17w2d today. Somehow I am close to the halfway point and I honestly feel like I JUST found out I was pregnant. This makes me excited/terrified since I know the 2nd half will be even faster.

On Saturday, we decided to tackle Disney World for the first time with Kyler. The weather was PERFECT and although the park was crowded, we never waited over 20 minutes for a ride!

We only did Magic Kingdom and were there a lot longer than I thought we would be. Kyler LOVED it (of course) and was such a good girl! She napped well, ate well, and had a blast.

They have SO many rides that she can go on and it’s safe to say that was her favorite part.

Teacups!

Having a blast!

Nap time!

Checking out the stage show

Waiting for the patiently for the parade to start

Cinderella’s Castle!

Kyler with her Grandparents and Great Grandparents!

Minnie Ears!

She did AWESOME and I can’t wait to take her back!!

After leaving the park, my phone notified me that I had walked 9.8 miles! The day before was a 14 hour work day complete with a game which my phone told me I walked 9 miles. Needless to say, I was pretty damn tired today!

We took a little stroll up to the park today so Kyler could swing and slide…happy life!

She also painted a pumpkin thanks to Daddy’s help!

Also, a HUGE congrats to our good friends and neighbor’s The Gilbertson’s for welcoming their new SON (and brother for Kenley) into the world this morning!!! We are so excited for you all!

*****

Off to watch some TV and probably fall asleep 🙂 Have a great week, Happy Halloween and see ya on the flip side!

UCF vs Penn State Weekend

18 Sep

In lieu of the Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons, I figured I would share some pictures and highlights of our weekend up in Central PA. We were off bright and early Friday morning (7:30am flight which meant 5am wake up call). We scored with an empty seat next to us which made life MUCH better!

Kyler started out pretty good on Friday. She was pretty good on the flight but as we got closer to land, she started getting a little cranky. By the time we put her in the stroller in the airport, she was having a full on melt-down. As soon as we were in the car, she passed out and I thought the end of the crankiness was near!

Miss Kyler woke up as we approached the Farm and the crankiness had not stopped. We attempted lunch then headed to State College. She continued her tantrum fits and made for a not so enjoyable time. Poor girl had a molar coming through on top of everything else so I know she was really uncomfortable. Tylenol wasn’t really doing the trick but there was nothing other than being outside and walking around that would make her happy. We stopped off at the Penn State Arboretum and she seemed to like that.

From there, we headed to the Penn State Creamery for some ice cream and she loved that (what’s not to like). The rest of the day was followed by tantrum after tantrum until it was bed time. Thankfully, she went down easily and Mom and Dad were not far behind 🙂

Saturday was game day and Kyler was GREAT!!!!! She was back to her happy, normal self. We walked down to the neighbor’s farm to see some cows. She really liked when they moo’ed at her.

My memory card crashed so all of my good photos from Friday and Saturday morning are gone. I am in the process of trying to recover them so fingers are crossed!

A few hours later, calves showed up at Nana’s Farm so we had to say hi to those too!

After a quick nap, we were ready to tailgate (with a good Cheese of course)

We had the House Divided shirt made up from a shop on Etsy. We ironed it on and it was perfect!!! I went to UCF and Chris went to Penn State plus it was Mickey and Minnie so everyone was happy.

A few of my friends from back home traveled up for the game so we tailgated with them for a bit.

UCF Alumni had a tent set-up so we swung by to hang with some fellow Knights. Kyler loved the balloons.

Game time!

She got to meet the Nittany Lion!

Go Knights!

We had to leave at the half since it was Kyler’s bedtime but UCF went on to win 34-31!!!!

The next day, we walked around the Farm for a bit. It was chilly out around 9am but it warmed up later in the day.

Later on, we headed to Horsepower Farm to meet some horses. The woman who runs it is a cousin of my Mother-In-Law’s so Kyler got to meet some up close.

Monday morning, we were up at 4am (UGH) and on the road by 4:30am to catch our 7am flight. Kyler enjoyed some Starbucks coffee cake for breakfast.

We had another empty seat on the flight home and Kyler did great!

It was a nice trip filled with family time, nice weather, and football! We could have done without the cranky Kyler but she still had a good time and enjoyed all of the farm animals.

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

2 Sep

The week started off celebrating Chris’s 34th birthday!!! Happy Birthday babe!!!

We kept it pretty laid back and ordered pizza (Chris’s fav) and went out for some frozen yogurt.

The week came and went and nothing really excited happened. We did have a very nice long weekend spent with lots of quality family time. We went out for breakfast at our favorite spot Keke’s.

We hit up the bookstore afterwards which Kyler thought was pretty cool. Especially when she found the little stage. She loves it up there!

Next stop was Lowes which Kyler ran straight to the tractors and climbed right up.

Chris ended up having to go to work for a hour or so but brought home lunch from Briantos, a local cheese steak place, and some hard to find Birch Beer! This reminds me of growing up and visiting my grandparent’s North Carolina home. They had some Birch trees out front and we used to snap the twigs and smell them. Love Birch Beer!

Kyler and I headed out to run some errands Sunday morning while Chris went in to work for a little bit. We stopped and got some Dunkin Donuts munchkins…. Kyler of course LOVED them.

The rest of the weekend was spent loungin’ by the pool.

Kyler’s hair is getting long!!! 2 things about this photo: 1) she is looking up somewhat so it’s not THAT long 2) it is longer than you would think because it’s only in the middle and in the back… we tend to brush that to the sides to minimize the mullet look 🙂

She helped Dad dust today 🙂 Such a good little helper.

She vacuumed of course too 🙂

Multi-tasking…. reading a book while climbing some stairs. Goofy girl.

It was a fun, uneventful, relaxing weekend with my 2 favorite people. Work for me is about to kick it into high gear with the NBA season upon us so I try to soak up as much time with them as I can.

Miss Kyler starts swim lessons tomorrow (eek!!!) and I am so anxious/scared to see how it goes!  Look for that update next week 🙂

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!! Have a great week!!!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

18 Aug

Pool finish was installed on Monday!!!

Started filling it up with water on Tuesday…

Which means….. pool was ready to use on Wednesday!!!!

Kyler was the first to go in…

and the rest of the gang went in right after!

Kyler had a great time in the pool! Thankfully we have her signed up for swimming lessons because she is not afraid of the water!

We did have to stay home from school/work on Wednesday because K had an eye infection and pink eye. She sure was a happy kid even with all of that going on!

Friday night, I worked the KISS show at work and Chris spent the night hanging out with his sister and nephew. They are visiting for the weekend before making their way back to Singapore.

We headed up for a day at SeaWorld on Saturday. The kiddos had fun and got to see a lot of different animals! The penguins were definitely the highlight. We had yet to go on the new ride or see them because every time we have been, the line has been over 2 hours! We only waited about 20 minutes… not too bad!

Kyler LOVED the penguins. She could care less that is was 30 degrees in there (no joke, when you get off the ride, you are in the open air exhibit with the penguins and it was 30 degrees. Burrrr)

Thankfully, you can leave the freezing area and still see the penguins for a bit.

We also checked out the Shamu show and the dolphin show!

It was HOT out but we survived. Kyler passed out before we made it back to the car.

We spent the rest of the weekend in the pool! So nice to have it now with these mid 90’s that have been hanging around!

Kyler had a great time with her cousin Matt this weekend!

Kyler with her Auntie Jen

We had a fun filled weekend with family but it’s back to the real world tomorrow. Already. So. Soon.
