Kyler’s 3rd Birthday Weekend!!!

29 Jan

A three year old birthday party was much different than a one year old or two year old party. At least it was for us. What I mean by that is that at age one, it’s mainly for the parents. The kid has no idea what is going on and what a birthday is. When it comes time for the second birthday, it’s still mainly for the parents, however, your kid may have some input in terms of what they like but outside of that, they still really don’t know what is going on. However, for the third birthday, that is when they definitely have some say so.

Kyler’s birthday was Monday, the 26th, however we started the party celebration on Friday. We brought in mini cupcakes for her class and they were able to sing her Happy Birthday at school.

Saturday was her birthday party with all of her friends. She had been telling me for about 5 months that she wanted a dinosaur and alligator . Um, what? I honestly thought it was just a moment in time thing but she kept at it and never dropped it. About 3 months ago (hey, I am an event planner-what can I say), I was thinking to myself “Okay, what are you going to do for a dinosaur and alligator party?” It dawned on me…. the Orlando Science Center! They have a great dinosaur area and baby alligators and guess what? They host birthday parties! This was perfect because Kyler now has a bunch of friends at school and I didn’t really want to entertain a bunch of people at my house. I mean do you remember how all out I went for her 2nd birthday?

Honestly, even though I was a bit sad that I didn’t get to be all creative and fun, it was AMAZING and pretty much stress free. I didn’t have to worry about a clean house, food, making sure everything was perfect, etc. We showed up and they handled everything!

First, she started out making a “lava” lamp and doing “volcano” explosion experiments.

Watching more science experiments!

Playing in one of the dino digs

We had a baby alligator come to the room and everyone got to pet him! His name was Taft 🙂

Time for cake!

Playtime with friends

These 2 were full of it and running through the exhibit like crazy people

The big guy had fun too!

Sunday, we had a birthday party for family at my parents house! We kept it simple; pizza and cake.

My dad snuck Hudson some icing….I was not too happy, however, Hudson seemed to love it.

Kyler got this sweet ride for her birthday!

Taken her baby bro for a ride

Drivers Ed

She had a great time!

Think someone has enough jewelry?

Uncle Josh!

Playing soccer with cousin Cole!

For her actual birthday, Chris and I both took off work and took her to a surprise breakfast with the princesses at the Grand Floridian.

He is such a flirt!

The other 4 princesses made their way around to our table

The Grand Floridan is so pretty! So is this little model 🙂

She is 3!

Running off to catch the monorail

We spent the rest of the day at Magic Kindgom. The park wasn’t too busy and we were able to get on 10 different rides, catch the parade, meet Tinker Bell, and still sneak in a nap!

12:03pm. The exact time she was born ❤

My little stud ❤

Watch out! Crazy driver!

Waiting for the parade to start and had a great view of the castle

The parade had a bit of delay to naturally Kyler headed out to perform in front of everyone.

She will make friends with anyone these days 🙂

Best parade yet. Since she was wearing her birthday pin, a lot of the performers came over to her and said happy birthday. She especially loved with Smead and Pluto came back and shook her hand 🙂

Teacups

This one…. melts my heart!

My big 3 year old. Thankfully she was able to get on this because the ride broke down about 3 minutes later!

We had the BEST day with them. They were both so well behaved, she LOVED the princesses and got to ride all of her favorite rides, the weather was beautiful and things just fell into place. We had a long weekend celebrating but it was worth it…. anything for our Bug! Happy 3rd Birthday again sweet girl!!!!!!!!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

2 Nov

Finally we had jacket weather here in Florida!

We have practicing a lot on the tricycle lately…. she is asking Santa for a big girl bike this Christmas 🙂

Just a normal night for us. Love these three ❤

Hudson’s weekly/monthly photographs are starting to become difficult and I know this will only continue and he starts to move more.

We had our home opener the other night and passed out Dunkin Donuts to our partners. Pure Magic!

This little guy had bananas in Cheerio dust for the first time. He did okay as he is trying to get used to the different textures

We had a BUSY weekend. Halloween kicked it off Friday night.

Pirate Fairy (part of Tinkerbell story for those of you that don’t watch Disney Junior) and Tic Toc Croc

Sweet Crocy

Hudson and his bud Crosby

Kyler and her friend Kenley!

Andddd we’re off!

Trick or Treat!

Poor Hudson passed out about 15 minutes into it.

After about a hour and half of Trick or Treating, we headed home and finished passing out candy. Kyler got her chair out and sat with Chris and loved to help out. When kids would walk up she would grab the bowl and say “oh there are kids coming, I need my bowl” and then proceed to give them 2-3 pieces each and say bye to them. Adorable.

She also did a good job of eating the candy as well 🙂 Caught her red handed!

She told me to leave her alone after I took this then moved away from me with the bowl.

I love my mini!

The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS this weekend and we loved being outside!

We celebrated Crosby’s 1st birthday this weekend!

Of course the girls had fun playing with his new toys

That night, the temps were in the 50s which meant it was time for a fire!

and what is a fire without smores and hot cocoa, yum!

Snuggles with the chocolate face

Aunt JJ got Hudson this hat a while ago and we haven’t had the weather to wear it. It may be a bit snug but it works and is super cute!

Ready to cheer on the Patriots!

This afternoon, Kyler and I headed to the Science Center to celebrate another birthday. She loves her animals so we had to hangout by the alligators and turtles for a while.

Checking out the lizard

They brought out a snake and to my surprise, she wanted to pet it. She is pretty fearless.

Diggin’ for dino bones

She is cool with the snake yet she gets scared of the fake dinosaur. Go figure.

Kyler and the birthday boy Ethan!

We spent some time outside when we got home, again enjoying the nice Fall weather.

Good luck Chris, this one is going to be a handful ❤

We had a super busy but really fun weekend partying it up! Happy November!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

8 Jun

We have had quite the busy week here. Chris’s family came into town on Sunday night and left this morning.

As you recall, we hit up Magic Kingdom last Sunday. After we left the park, we headed to the airport and picked up Nana and Peepaw (Chris’s parents). The view from their hotel room. Disney Fireworks!

The next day we hit up Downtown Disney. Chris’s sister and our nephew (Matt, he is 4.5 years old) are visiting from Singapore and just got in from there at 11pm the night before so it was a nice easy day.

As you will see below, they were best buds for the week.

Kyler got a lot of swimming in this week

The next day, we hit up Animal Kingdom.

The safari. It may not be the real deal but it was still fun!

We then hopped over to Epcot in the late afternoon to stroll around. Found these little cuties walking through America.

We got dinner in Germany at the Oktoberfest restaurant. The kids loved dancing to the band.

We stayed for the fireworks and were out of the park  just before 10pm. 12 hour day at Disney and 13+ miles later made for 2 VERY tired little kiddos.

Running errands before the kids bapstim, ALONE.  All of the parents out there know how amazing it truly is. Pure bliss.

Kyler and Hudson were baptized this week. More on this later.

Baller status

We made it to Dunkin Donuts for National Donut Day.

Hudson got to hang with his buddy Crosby this week.

Everybody swarm Hudson!

Enjoying in the Orlando Science Center

Just jammin’ out on the way home from dinner….. She’s so fancy

Hudson looks terrified

Goofballs

Today was a lazy day full of errands and play time. Ammo and Kyler snuggling ❤

He is sure big enough for it but I don’t think he is strong enough yet. Will visit this in a few weeks 🙂

Sums up our day ❤

Welp, today was my last day of maternity leave 😦 I am so so so sad that I have to leave my sweet boy tomorrow and head back to the real world. At least I am going back to a place full of great people and good times. He will be with my mom this week so that makes it a lot easier as well. Off to get my bags ready for… WORK! Haven’t said that in a while! Catch ya on the flip side!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

2 Feb

Well after last weekend and the birthday festivities (Mermaid Party and Zoo), we have been taking it easy.

Chris caught another stomach bug and wasn’t feeling well one day. Nurse Kyler took care of him though and took his temp.

Chris’s parents (Nana and P-Pa) have been in town all week too. Kyler had a great time spending lots of quality time with them. They had lots of fun at the Science Center.

That’s our week! Low key and lots of family time. Now time to get moving on Hudson’s room. The little guy is due to be here in approximately 8 weeks (give or take) and it will be here before we know it!
