Miss Kyler Nicole

Born January, 26, 2012

In honor for Kyler’s birthday, I went with a newborn picture of her. I took it myself 🙂 She was such a beautiful and perfect baby and is a beautiful and perfect little 2 year old. These have been the quickest 2 years of my life but they have been the BEST! Wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world 🙂 Love you, Bug!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

12 Jan

The weather this week in Florida has been all over the place. Hot, freezing, rainy, cool, sunny, cloudy.

Kyler was ready to go on the cold day. High was in the 4os!

She has been struggling with naps this week. If we doses off for a second before hitting the bed, you can basically kiss naptime goodbye. This means passing out in the car on the way home 🙂

I hit up 4 Rivers this week (local BBQ place) and was pleased to see this sign at their Sweet Shop 🙂

Coffee Oreo….. um YUM!!!!! It was AMAZING.

Grandma gave Kyler my locket necklace from when I was a baby. I got this when I was 1 for my baptism. I am going to put it away for safe keeping but will definitely let her wear it for nice occasions 🙂

Kyler and Kenley are normally besties but they were fierce competitors on Saturday night. Colts vs Pats! Our Pats won which made The Jenkinsons happy. Ps…. trying to take pictures of 2 VERY active and crazy 2 year olds is basically impossible.

The family came to visit me at the Circus this past weekend. I had to work the morning show but it worked out because Kyler had a good time watching the show.

We stopped by our favorite breakfast place KeKe’s this morning. Kyler sat in a booster seat and waited patiently for her food. When did she get to be so big?

We enjoyed a beautiful 68 degree day at the park.

Pure Joy

Have a good week 🙂

Just working at Daddy’s office

New Year’s Eve wasn’t very exciting for us. This was the excitement of my nights, poppin’ Sparkling Cider with my crew at work!

Delicious 🙂

The Preggo is getting crazy!

My little fashionista 🙂

We got A LOT done in the birthday party planning department this week. This photo inspired some of her cupcakes. I am getting them from Sweet by Good Golly Miss Holly.… best. cupcakes. ever.

Can’t wait to see how they turn out!

My UCF Knights won the 2014 Fiesta Bowl!!!!! I couldn’t be more proud 🙂

They have come a long way since I went to school! Go Knights!

Sneak Peak of Kyler’s birthday party 🙂

This little one visited me at work again. I could get used to that!

That’s my week. We are in full party planning mode! I am also starting to redirect my attention to Hudson’s room so I am excited to get into that over the next couple of months. This week I have my glucose test (yuck) but I am anxious to get back to the doctor and see how he’s growing. Last time I was measuring ahead by 2.5 weeks but I think I may be all caught up now. We will see! I will officially be in my 3rd trimester on Friday too. Less than 3 months to go! Ahhhh!!!

Hello 2014!

1 Jan

Happy New Year’s!!! I can’t believe 2013 has come and gone and we are already in 2014. I re-read what I wrote back in 2013 and laughed. I had 2 big things to accomplish and I can say that I really didn’t do that at all!

  • Working out:  That went well in the Spring and Summer but then I got pregnant and that went out the window. I had big plans this time around to workout through my pregnancy and I just could not do it. I FEEL every ache and pain this time around and sometimes walking too much makes me unable to really move around for a day or 2. But with that said, my job keeps me fit. I walk anywhere from 3-10 miles a day so at least I have that!
  • Make more time for us: Well we sort of did that. We never did get a baby sitter (can’t seem to stomach paying over $100 just for dinner and a movie out of the house) but that doesn’t mean things didn’t change. I think Kyler being older helped A LOT. Looking back, when they are so little and need every waking second of your time, you can’t help but feel that is all your life is about. But now that Kyler is older and her own little person, we have really had more time to feel back to normal. Now adding a 2nd little kiddo to the mix should make things interesting but we are more than excited and ready for the change!

2013 was an interesting year for me. If I had to rate it, it wasn’t one of my best years. 2012 was a high for us; just getting settled into our new home & bringing Kyler in the world. 2013 definitely had its ups and downs. It has been so much fun watching Kyler grow so that has been the highlight. The hardest thing I have had to deal with is losing my brother Craig back in February. Here we are 10 months later and it is something I think about constantly. It’s been rough.

I am really looking forward to 2014. I am ready to meet our new son, Hudson, who is due April 4th. I am ready to see what work has to bring. I am ready to see where I can take this blog. I am ready for it all! Kyler will be turning 2 in a couple of weeks, I will be 28 in May (sigh) and Chris will be hitting his mid-30s at 35 in August. Where is the time going?!?!

Happy 2014!!!

Our Merry Christmas

30 Dec

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas this year!!! We had a good Christmas, however, we could have done without the stomach bug. Chris had it Christmas Eve and felt better by that night, Kyler became sick Christmas Eve night and was better by the morning, and I got it Christmas morning 😦 We all managed through it and still had a nice Christmas.

Christmas Eve night we baked cookies for Santa and watched the Grinch.

He ate them all!

Ready to go!

Someone’s excited!

Is this all for me???

Grandma, Poppa and Josh are here!

Opening her first gift.

Loves Mickey and Minnie

Girl loves her books!

Feeding her new baby

Enjoying her new chair and Leappad from Santa.

The aftermath.

Kyler got WAY too many presents but that’s okay 🙂 She is allowed to be spoiled. I can’t quite seem to figure out what her favorites are yet. She keeps bouncing around. She does love her VTech Go Go Smart Wheels Train Set.

Chris & I got a bunch of different goodies!!! Great Christmas indeed 🙂

Again, we hope you had a very Merry Christmas and that you have a great new year!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

20 Oct

Kyler had her winter clothes swim test on Monday and did GREAT! She is officially done with swim lessons!

This crazy girl woke up like this… must have been a wild night!

I worked the Avenged Sevenfold concert this week. It happens to be one of my favorite bands so I was a happy girl!

But I have to admit that it is pretty damn hard being away from this face ❤ It really makes working late not so much fun anymore.

So Kyler has been into the Little Mermaid and is starting to know all of the songs. She loves to sing a long so when I saw this “pretty” at Target (only $5… score!) I KNEW I had to buy it…. needless to say… she loves it!

Nothing like getting your hair done!

We celebrated Kenley Dee’s 2nd birthday on Saturday!!! The girls have been besties since the beginning. Happy Birthday Kenley!

We made Halloween Cookies with Kyler tonight.

For one, she kept trying to eat the cookie dough….which I know most people do (gross) but it had raw egg in it so I was freaking out just a bit 🙂

At first, she opted to eat the cookie rather than decorate it.

Then she got in on the action!

Kyler’s BEAUTIFUL Halloween Cookies!

I spent the weekend hanging out with my little family and I couldn’t be any happier. Here is to another long weekend and hopefully (fingers crossed) some cooler weather!!!!!!

Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons

6 Oct

My mom watches Kyler 2 days a week and Kyler loves going over to Grandma and Poppa’s. Sometimes my mom takes Kyler out shopping…. one spoiled but trendy little girl!

She came home from school with this cute little hairdo 🙂

Goofy girl!

We have one week left of swimming lessons. Kyler has the clothes test this week! She will get put into the pool fully clothed and have to make her way to the ledge. Daddy and Kyler practiced swimming this week, she is doing so well!

I had a long night of work on Saturday night. We had a HBO Live Boxing Event in the building. Pretty cool event!

Today we went to the toy store (found a $25 gift card, score!) and out to lunch. Poor thing couldn’t even make it home.

After our nap (yeah… I napped too), we headed to our weekly trip to Publix. Kyler helped put things on the belt.

Tonight, I made a little Polish feast complete with my Grandma’s Fried Cabbage and Noodles 🙂 She used to make her own dumplings that were amazing but I didn’t really have time for that 🙂 Egg noodles work pretty well!

Finished product! Nothing really healthy here.

We topped off our night with a family movie night. I have been waiting for the Little Mermaid to come out of the vault and it finally has! It is my favorite Disney movie and Kyler was really into it too!

I am still exhausted every night so I pretty much hit the bed early. Work is really picking up and our pre-season starts this week! Pray for me!  Have a great week!!

Special Edition: Mid-Week Update ;)

25 Sep

As you know, each week I update you with things that have been happening in the Jenkinson household. I know I missed ANOTHER post this past Sunday but I think I have a pretty good reason.

WE ARE EXPECTING ANOTHER BABY!!!!

Chris and I are happy to announce that we are expecting our 2nd baby and we couldn’t be happier about it! That means Miss Kyler will be a Big Sister which she doesn’t really understand (and to be honest, I don’t think she will until the baby is here).

Big Sister Kyler!

Baby 2.0 is due April 4th which makes me 12 weeks and 5 days to those that are counting 🙂

So for those of you that are curious….

  • We found out on July 28th and confirmed with two preggo tests
  • I have been feeling pretty good thus far, although the fatigue has really kicked my butt. I tend to go to bed pretty late but I have been passed out between 9-10 every night for the past several weeks.
  • Nausea hasn’t been too bad, just when I was hungry, but I was feeling very blah for a few weeks there.
  • Just like with Kyler, I get very “out of breath” feeling and dizzy in the mornings which means I move even slower than before.
  • The headaches have started but I have my little tricks to make them go away 🙂
  • And holy cow, as soon as I found out I felt my stomach get thicker almost instantly. I was freaking out that at that rate I would be big by now but I am happy to say I have stayed the same size for a few weeks now. I guess it just happens quicker which is what I am hearing and reading 🙂

Overall, I am feeling good and am excited to enter my 2nd trimester! We are so excited to meet the new little guy/gal and expand our little family of 3 to 4!

UCF vs Penn State Weekend

18 Sep

In lieu of the Weekend Update with The Jenkinsons, I figured I would share some pictures and highlights of our weekend up in Central PA. We were off bright and early Friday morning (7:30am flight which meant 5am wake up call). We scored with an empty seat next to us which made life MUCH better!

Kyler started out pretty good on Friday. She was pretty good on the flight but as we got closer to land, she started getting a little cranky. By the time we put her in the stroller in the airport, she was having a full on melt-down. As soon as we were in the car, she passed out and I thought the end of the crankiness was near!

Miss Kyler woke up as we approached the Farm and the crankiness had not stopped. We attempted lunch then headed to State College. She continued her tantrum fits and made for a not so enjoyable time. Poor girl had a molar coming through on top of everything else so I know she was really uncomfortable. Tylenol wasn’t really doing the trick but there was nothing other than being outside and walking around that would make her happy. We stopped off at the Penn State Arboretum and she seemed to like that.

From there, we headed to the Penn State Creamery for some ice cream and she loved that (what’s not to like). The rest of the day was followed by tantrum after tantrum until it was bed time. Thankfully, she went down easily and Mom and Dad were not far behind 🙂

Saturday was game day and Kyler was GREAT!!!!! She was back to her happy, normal self. We walked down to the neighbor’s farm to see some cows. She really liked when they moo’ed at her.

My memory card crashed so all of my good photos from Friday and Saturday morning are gone. I am in the process of trying to recover them so fingers are crossed!

A few hours later, calves showed up at Nana’s Farm so we had to say hi to those too!

After a quick nap, we were ready to tailgate (with a good Cheese of course)

We had the House Divided shirt made up from a shop on Etsy. We ironed it on and it was perfect!!! I went to UCF and Chris went to Penn State plus it was Mickey and Minnie so everyone was happy.

A few of my friends from back home traveled up for the game so we tailgated with them for a bit.

UCF Alumni had a tent set-up so we swung by to hang with some fellow Knights. Kyler loved the balloons.

Game time!

She got to meet the Nittany Lion!

Go Knights!

We had to leave at the half since it was Kyler’s bedtime but UCF went on to win 34-31!!!!

The next day, we walked around the Farm for a bit. It was chilly out around 9am but it warmed up later in the day.

Later on, we headed to Horsepower Farm to meet some horses. The woman who runs it is a cousin of my Mother-In-Law’s so Kyler got to meet some up close.

Monday morning, we were up at 4am (UGH) and on the road by 4:30am to catch our 7am flight. Kyler enjoyed some Starbucks coffee cake for breakfast.

We had another empty seat on the flight home and Kyler did great!

It was a nice trip filled with family time, nice weather, and football! We could have done without the cranky Kyler but she still had a good time and enjoyed all of the farm animals.

Weekend Update with the Jenkinsons

9 Sep

Well I am a day late and this is going to be very quick because there wasn’t much that was “blog worthy”.

Kyler did start swimming lessons this week!!!

The kid LOVES her peanut butter & jelly sandwiches…. sometimes it’s easier to feed her that with her clothes off because… well you can see 🙂

She is very much into her stuffed toys lately…. Elmo is a favorite right now and he tends to go with her quite a bit.

Kyler had another swim class over the weekend…. she is doing great! She cries the whole time but I am hoping that will stop. The teacher said she is a strong little girl and will pick this up in no time so that is great to hear!

We are in the “not having fun” stage of swimming classes and I expect that to last a week or so more… this was her on the way home. Miss grumpy!

But then of course realized I took a picture so she stopped for a second to say “Cheese”

For dinner, I made a homemade burrito bowl and tried to duplicate Chiptole’s flavor with lime and cilantro…. It wasn’t exact but it was pretty good!

Short and sweet but that is all I got!!!! We take off to PA this weekend to head to the Farm, State College for some UCF vs Penn State football (go UCF!!) and family time! Not to mention, I am VERY much looking forward to some Fall weather 🙂 See you on the flip side!
